This was submitted by PARKAZINE reader Cary:
When I was in college, my girlfriend and I used to routinely
go down to the Village for dinner on the weekends. Parking, of course, was a nightmare and we would wind up going round and round, sometimes for what seemed eternity, until we found an open spot.
On one particular night, after spending much time circling, a parking spot
opened up and just as I was backing up into it a smaller car drove right in,
nose first.
Normally I'm a quiet guy, but this annoyed the heck out of me. So I got out and walked up to the driver of the car vigorously claiming my right to the parking spot.
He stared at me and slowly reached under his seat, drawing out what must
have been a three foot chef's knife (well, it looked that big!). Waving the
knife in my face he calmly said, "How badly do you want this spot?"
I decided I really didn't want it at all.
