What our customers have been saying to/about us:

"You have a great service, thank you for creating it! It has helped me to find parking in places i never thought would have it. Keep up the good work."
 - Renee F., Sunnyside, NY

"I use the website everyday - I really do, I use it every single day."
 - Helaine P., Fort Lee, NJ

It's truly amazing. We've already put them (the books) in our car doors so that they are handy; a few older maps have therefore been displaced! What a great parking resource.
Charline G., Freehold, NJ

Dear Erik,

You may remember my phone call and e-mail to you regarding a parking summons for parking after the 11 PM limit (see below). The ticket said no parking from 11a - 6a, which was incorrect. I wrote a letter quoting their own rules regarding incorrectly written tickets, and the $115 fine was reduced to $90. which I paid on Oct, 4th. Well, just today, on October 20th, when the reduced fine was due, I received a letter from the Finance Department of the City of New York that the ENTIRE FINE WAS DISMISSED! Now there's the GOOD NEWS!!!!
It's definitely worth the trouble to fight the summons!
Respectfully, Rhoda M. Somers, NY

Dear Erik,

I called you a couple of weeks ago in reference to a parking ticket that was written incorrectly, but the summons was valid. I was parked until after mid-night, and the sign said "No parking 11 PM - 6 AM". The ticket read 11a - 6a. (which was incorrect). I took your advice to send a polite letter with the explanation that an incorrectly written ticket was grounds for dismissal, with the original ticket for $115. I just received a letter back with a reduced fine of $90, and some additional time to pay it. You asked that I let you know, so I am writing to thank you for your "right on" advice!
Sincerely, Rhoda M. Somers, NY
P.S. I love your book, and recommend it to friends all the time.

I don't doubt that your book will soon become the NY parking bible. I use it all the time!!!! And tell people about it, too.
Best, Patti

I love these 2 books!!! I am enjoying the games of finding a space.. Most of my friends cant believe that I am getting so many spaces.. I told them...yah just have to plan ahead:-))

I just want to let you know that I've been using -- and telling people about -- your "Downtown Guide", and it is indeed most helpful. Over the years, I've discovered on my own how to park in othe parts of Manhattan island, but "downtown" is still unfamiliar territory, so I'm very grateful to have your "Guide-ance". Thank you!
Judy

I recently read the Federguide to where to park and found the information so helpful. i think about all the times that i've driven the streets of manhattan trying to find a spot and never knowing which signs were for which times. now with this powerful tool, no more guesswork! wonderfully thought-out format. don't leave home (in your car, going into the city) without it.

I just want to thank you for all your help. I received a parking ticket for $65.00 because I "failed to display my meter ticket" in the window. I would have automatically paid it before I received you email and bought your books. Instead, I followed your instructions to photocopy my meter ticket and parking ticket. I mailed those copies along with the explanation that I had displayed my meter ticket. Also, the parking ticket was hard to read because it was soaked by the rain. I first received an decrease in fine from $65.00 to $45.00. I declined and waited (based on your advice). I was pleasantly surprised to receive a notice of acceptance of my not guilty plea. Thank you again.

Thanks again, Erik. Your book is great. The information you p rovide is priceless. Thank you for all of your hard work. Because of it we all benefit greatly.

Thanks so much for your Feder Guide. I park in Manhattan and find your books and newsletter invaluable!

Before I departed on my drive in from Old Greenwich, I bought your book on-line and used it to find some areas where street parking would be free starting at 6:00 PM. Unfortunately, I arrived a little late (approx. 6:15 PM) and all the free spots were taken. With your book (actually the print-outs of pages 300 - 305) I was able, on-the-fly, to easily find a great alternate spot that only cost $6.00 for 3 hours. Without your book I would have not even attempted to find an alternate spot, I'd have gone on to a parking garage, which would have cost me $35.00 for those same 3 hours. Thus your book paid for itself (and then some) the very day that I bought it!
Dave R., Old Greenwich, CT

Love the guide.. if u know where u r going, u can at least investigate ahead of time... It has always been kind of a game deciphering the signs and where or where not to park.. I am loving the lower NYC guide..

G-d/dess bless your little hearts. What a wonderful thing you are doing for the people of this town.

I wanted to take a second to tell you what incredible books you put together. I just got the Midtown/Uptown edition in the mail today. I was extremely excited when I read the article in New York magazine and heard you were working on putting some books out that deal with all of the parking regulations in NYC... Thanks again for putting together such a thorough book. I'm sure the Downtown edition is great too..hopefully i'll be able to pick that up soon.
Matt

if you're the guy who wrote this i just wanna give you a high five. man, what a clever idea! don't know how you did it, what made you do it (perhaps too many tickets such as myself) but god bless you.

This is one of the weirder coincidences that happened to me recently. I live just outside NYC, but rented an apartment in Soho for a few months. Since I drive in to stay at the apartment, I quickly realized that figuring out the parking was KEY. I started walking around the neighborhood taking down notes on all the streets and each parking sign, and got bored with that-- fast. Started thinking, there MUST be a book that tells you where you can park in NYC, street by street. Did some research on the web and VOILA - as luck would have it, THE FEDER GUIDE had just been published! the ink was barely dry! I immediately shared this exciting discovery with my husband - a jazz acoustic bass player who's livelihood depends on finding convenient parking spots all over the city so he can schlep his bass to gigs. The end to parking hell was within reach!! However, small glitch - since it was so new, I couldn't locate it in the bookstores easily. After calling at least 10 bookstores, it turns out th ey either sold out or hadn't yet stocked the book. Now, getting THE BOOK turned into an obsession. Heres where it gets interesting. about two days after I discovered THE BOOK existed, I had an important new business meeting scheduled. As soon as we finished our business discussion, I started blabbing about my exciting discovery - THE BOOK! (I don't know what posessed me to bring that up as a topic of conversation, other than the fact that it was literally top of mind.) My business associate looked at me a little oddly, and said, "is it called 'the FEDER Guide to Parking in Manhattan'?" I, somewhat shocked that she knew about a book that was barely off the presses, said "Yes - how do you know about it??" She said the author, Eri k Feder, is her boyfriend's best friend! Not only that, he's a jazz drummer who wrote the book because he too must find good parking to schlep his drums to gigs all over the city. Now HOW WEIRD IS THAT? - I've heard that saying "when the student is ready, the teacher appears", but I never imagined that applied to a new york city parking "guru". After a good laugh, we parted ways and next day I had a FEDX package at my door containing...you guessed it - THE BOOK! It is so thorough and informative, my husband and I "don't leave home without it"! (move over, AMEX) Thanks Erik, for realizing a great idea and making it happen - parking has become one less thing to complain about in New York.

My brother, to whom I gave a copy of the book, called to thank me for all the help it's already given him. On to Midtown!

I was so excited when I heard there was an actual "Guide to Parking in NYC". I lived in NYC for 10 yrs., but am now in PA and it is MUCH different to drive around NYC than take a subway. Thanks so much for your book. Now I can plan my day much easier because I will know where I am going to park, rather than just "drive around NYC looking for a spot." Thank You!!!
K. P ellam, Actor

You know, I've been towed and ticketed a few times in NYC. One time I parked for 5 min. after circling the block for an hour to find a spot just to run into a store to pick up something that I had ordered. I came out of the store to find the tow guy hooking onto my car and trying to break the lock on my door. I said, "geez. I'm here now, I'll just drive it away". The tow guy pulled out a gun (this is no lie) and said, "I already hooked onto it, step away from the vehicle". Talk about pissed off!!! I was livid. many bus's, $300, and 5 hours later, I had my car back. If I had had The Feder Guide back then, I would have simply lo oked up the streets around the store that had good free parking! My bad day would have been a good day. Its about time somebody wrote a book like this. I will never give the city of NY another dime for parking. The book resides in my glove box from now on! I would not drive in NYC without it again! Thanks Mr. Feder!!!

Although I am sure that this is a much needed guide, I almost want to scream that you are publishing all our secrets! I have also been the recipient of many parking tickets on my many trips across the river, and finally decided to make it a challenge to "beat them out" of the chance to make money off me. I now know of many spots, strategically located to numerous venues that I frequent and I am afraid that your book is going to change that. Although I wish you luck with your book (and I am going to run out and buy it today) I secretly hope that no one finds my "sweet spots". Good Luck,
